Georgina resident charged with fraud

A 79-year-old Georgina resident is charged with fraud following an incident in Peterborough.

According to Peterborough Police, on Sept. 26, an individual was seen attending the returns desk at a Lansdowne Street West store allegedly returning items that had not been purchased. Through the investigation the person was identified and attended the Peterborough police station on Oct. 14, where he was placed under arrest.

Murray Brown, 79, of Park Road, Georgina, is charged with fraud under $5,000.

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear in court on November 1, 2018
