Update: Uxbridge woman dies after Oct. 12 collision

An 87-year-old Uxbridge woman has died after a two-vehicle collision last Friday (Oct. 12).

According to police, the accident occurred in Uxbridge around 12:30 p.m. when a 2016 Hyundai Tucson entered the intersection of York Durham Line and Regional Highway 47 where it was struck by a Dodge Ram travelling eastbound on Regional Highway 47.

The driver of the Hyundai Tucson, an 87-year-old from Uxbridge, was transported to a Toronto trauma centre with life-threatening injuries, while the driver of the Dodge Ram, a 27-year-old from King City, was not injured.

Police will not be releasing the name of the victim, at the request of her family.
