DRPS

Police arrested a suspect after he allegedly drove into a commercial business and fled from the scene in Beaverton last night.

Shortly after 9:30 p.m. Wednesday (Oct. 3), officers responded to a fail to remain call in the area of Mara Road.

Police say the suspect was operating a grey Ford pick-up truck at a high rate of speed and lost control, struck a parked car and came to rest against a building. The building — a popular restaurant in the village — sustained extensive damage. The suspect then fled the scene. The suspect attempted to report his vehicle stolen to investigators, however he was arrested for the incident.

Joshua Brohm, 20, of Thorah Concession Road 6 in Brock Township has been charged with dangerous operation of a motor vehicle; operating while impaired; fail to stop at scene of accident and public mischief. He was released on a promise to appear.
