Cannington man charged after collision in Lindsay

A 22-year-old man from Cannington has been charged in connection to a collision with a parked car in Lindsay in August.

At 11:15 p.m. on Aug. 17, Kawartha Lakes Police say a car collided with a parked vehicle on Albert Street South in Lindsay. The driver allegedly fled the scene, travelling west on Ardmore Avenue. Police say the parked vehicle had been hit with such force that it as pushed from the street onto a front lawn, almost striking a residence.

On Sept. 25, police say the driver was identified as a result of the investigation.

The 22-year-old man from Cannington, whose name has not been released, is charged with careless driving, operating a motor vehicle without insurance, driving while under suspension, failing to remain at the scene of a collision and failing to apply for a permit.

He will appear in court on Nov. 1.
