As the leaves start to change and the temperatures begin to drop, residents and visitors to Brock Township are invited to attend the upcoming Sunderland Fall Fair this September 11 and 12.
For two days, the community will fill with the sights and sounds of the 167th Fall Fair as organizers present the theme of A Family A-Fair.
The event opens to the public at 4 p.m. on Sept. 11, including Air Bounce Adventure Land. Opening ceremonies start at 6 p.m. at the arena with the lawn tractor pull at the grandstands and the antique cars and vintage tractor shows by the middle baseball diamond. The horse pull and pet show both start at 6:30 p.m., by the south ball diamond and north of the arena, respectively, followed by the variety talent show at 7 p.m. in the arena.
Day two of the Sunderland Fall Fair opens at 9 a.m. with the horse shows, followed by the parade and school cheers at 10:30 a.m., as well as the 4-H Dairy show. Craft demonstrations start at noon (and continue until 4 p.m.), as does the 4-H Beef show.
More dairy and beef shows fill out the afternoon as Richard McIntyre performs at 1 p.m. on the arena stage.
The Order of Eastern Star Supper runs from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. at St. Andrew’s United Church before the 7:30 p.m. demolition derby wraps up the two-day event.
