Driver escapes without injury after train hits car in Pefferlaw
A motorist was lucky to escape without injury after a car was hit by a train in Pefferlaw Tuesday (July 10) night.
According to York Regional Police, the accident occured around 10:30 p.m. on Weir’s Sideroad, south of Old Homestead Road.
“Tracks are blocked at this location for a while,” a social media post reads.
“There is no vehicle access on Weirs at the racks, so find an alternate route please.”
Police also noted that the train is also blocking the crossing on Old Homestead Road, west of Weir’s Sideroad. The crossing at Pefferlaw Road remains open.
