After cruising to victory in the June 7 provincial election, MPP Laurie Scott is hoping to claim a spot in Premier Doug Ford’s cabinet.
Scott, who captured roughly 57 per cent of the vote in winning her fifth term as the representative for Haliburton-Kawartha Lakes-Brock earlier this month, said she’s unsure whether she would get the call to serve.
“I’m really not sure what’s going to happen. There’s a lot of factors to be considered,” she told The Brock Voice.
Scott’s experience could prove beneficial. Of the 70-member Progressive Conservatice caucus, 48 are first-time MPPs, including Ford himself.
Ford and members of the cabinet will be sworn-in by Lieutenant Governor Elizabeth Dowdeswell on Friday (June 29).
