Body of kayaker pulled from Lake Simcoe in Beaverton
Police and medical personnel were called to Thorah Centennial Park north of Beaverton Sunday (June 17) night to recover the body of a kayaker from Lake Simcoe.
While a spokesperson for the DRPS would confirm few details about the case when contacted by The Brock Voice, he did note that more information on the case would likely be released later today.
“There was a kayaker located deceased and a post-mortem is being conducted,” said Constable George Tudos.
According to a resident who lives in the area, it appears as though the victim’s body was spotted in the early evening hours, with an ambulance leaving the scene around 8:30 p.m.
“It was a male and he appeared to be deceased – they weren’t working on him,” the resident said.
