The weekend storm – and ensuing power outage – has forced the postponement of today’s (April 16) slate of Brock Township council meetings.
Although power has since been restored to the municipal office, at about 9 a.m. Township staff advised the public via social media the power had gone out and the phone system was unavailable.
But the public meeting planned for tonight in Beaverton will proceed as planned, according to the Township.
As well, Durham Region’s traffic operations centre in Whitby is closed until further notice due to flooding. The Durham Region Health Department’s offices on the second floor of the building remain open.
A post from the Township, at about 10:30 a.m., indicated the power had been restored to the municipal office.
