A burn ban put place across Brock Township following a pair of grass fires Saturday (March 24) has been lifted.
“Please be advised that the Burn ban is now canceled. Open air burning is permitted as per the bylaw,” tweeted the Township on March 28.
According to Deputy Fire Chief Wayne Ward, a fire broke out in the Sunderland area and drew firefighters from two halls (Sunderland and Cannington).
The second, in the Beaverton area around Concession 2 Thorah, prompted a response from all three halls along with assistance from Ramara Township.
“I cannot specify the cause of these fires right now,” Deputy Chief Ward said.
