Five Brock Township staff members have once again earned a spot on the ‘Sunshine List’ in 2017.
The annual list of public sector workers who earn $100,000 or more was released Friday (March 23) by the provincial government.
Not surprisingly, CAO/Clerk Thom Gettinby was the Township’s top earner, collecting a salary of $145,123.80 (along with $9,253.68 in taxable benefits). Next was Treasurer Laura Barta with a salary of $121,850.76 ($1,724.09), followed by Works Director Nick Colucci at $108,445.31 ($1,533.83), Fire Chief Rick Harrison at $102,306.89 ($1,443.75) and Chief Building Official Joe Bonura at $102,306.89 ($1,154.59).
The Public Salary Disclosure Act requires any organization that gets public funding from the Province of Ontario to disclose the name, position, salary and total taxable benefits of employees who earn six figures or more. In addition to municipalities and hospitals, other sectors bound by the act include colleges and universities, electrical utilities and school boards.
