Durham school board considers change to trustee allocation
The Durham District School Board is considering changes to its trustee allocation policy that could reduce representation for Brock Township.
The board is seeking public input on the proposed changes, launching a survey for residents across the region on Tuesday (March 6).
The main question posed to voters surrounds the allocation of trustees for the northern townships of Brock, Uxbridge and Scugog.
The status quo option would see Brock and Uxbridge continue to be represented by one trustee, with another representing Scugog. A second option would see the three northern townships represented by a single trustee, with Whitby gaining an additional seat on the board.
The survey also contains a question on the trustee allocation for Ajax.
Responses can be submitted until 4 p.m. on March 14. A report on the results is expected to be discussed by the board on March 19.
