Snowmobiler pulled from water after crashing through the ice on Lake Simcoe
A snowmobiler was reportedly taken to hospital Wednesday (Feb. 21) morning after going through the ice on Lake Simcoe.
According to Durham Radio News, staff from Mitchell’s Fish Huts at the Beaverton Harbour ventured out to pull the man from the water and brought him back to emergency crews on shore.
Brock Township Fire Chief Rick Harrison said the man was taken to hospital to be treated for hypothermia.
Chief Harrison also reminded residents and visitors that the ice on Lake Simcoe is unpredictable following a few days of mild temperatures and rain.
