A Beaverton man has been convicted of sexually assaulting three children.

Dennis Coles was found guilty on eight charges – three counts of sexual assault, three counts of sexual interference and two counts of invitation to sexual touching — in an Oshawa court on Tuesday (Feb. 6) afternoon.

Georgina firefighters rescue man after truck goes through ice on Lake Simcoe

Firefighters in Georgina were called to rescue a man whose truck plunged through the ice on Lake Simcoe this morning (Feb. 6).

A photo of the rescue, which reportedly occurred near Willow Beach, was shared by the fire department on social media.

The Georgina Fire Department is reminding residents that no ice is safe to drive on.

UPDATED – Beaverton community mourning the death of longtime Legion member Susie Olhiser

The Beaverton community is mourning the loss of Susie Olhiser, a member of the village’s Legion branch for more than four decades.

Olhiser passed away Monday (Feb. 5) afternoon at the age of 68, leaving behind her husband of 45 years, three children and five grandchildren.
