Region hosting public meeting on reconstruction of Wilfrid intersection

Residents can learn more about Durham Region’s planned reconstruction of a Wilfrid intersection at a public meeting later this month.

The intersection of Regional Road 23 and Regional Road 12, which is currently controlled by stop signs from the east and west, will be redesigned to a single-lane roundabout.

“The roundabout will include re-alignment of all four approach legs to the intersection, illumination, concrete curb and gutter median splitter islands and centre island landscaping,” reads a notice from the Region.

“Construction for this project is currently planned for 2018.”

The meeting will be held Thursday, Jan. 18 from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Wilfrid Community Hall.

For more information on the project, send an email to project co-ordinator Andrew Gorman at andrew.gorman@durham.ca or call 905-668-7711, extension 2872.
