A Sunderland singer is ringing in the holidays with the release of her first music video.
Carley Hope, a Grade 11 student at Brock High School, filmed a video covering ‘I’ll be Home’ by Meaghan Trainor along the Beaver River Trail.
The 16-year-old, who is signed to Broken Silence Records, certainly hopes it’s the first of many.
“I’ve been singing since the age of three but decided around the age of eight that it was something I wanted to do as a career,” she said.
Her YouTube channel includes a few other cover songs, along with a handful of original tracks that she’s recorded.
“I’ve written about 20 original songs altogether and am working on my second CD,” Hope said.
One song in particular, ‘Look Up,’ lies especially close to her heart.
“It was written for my cousin that passed away in a car accident,” Hope said.

Hope performed in her hometown on Dec. 22 as part of the Home for the Holidays show, alongside Leah Daniels and Beverley Mahood.
