More than 800 holiday cards will be distributed to seniors in Brock, Scugog and Uxbridge through the Seniors Greetings campaign.

Launched by Cannington resident Jennifer Leece in 2012, the initiative sees volunteers make handmade cards for seniors living in area nursing homes.

Cards have been delivered or are en route to residents at Lakeview Manor in Beaverton, Bon Air Nursing Home in Cannington and Dre’s Lodge in Sunderland, along with an additional 100 going to local Community Care clients.

“We have 206 cards being delivered to three different homes in Uxbridge on Thursday (Dec. 14) and more than 300 going to Port Perry in the next couple days,” Leece said.

“We’ve had an amazing response from the community this year.”
