Beaverton man charged after police recover stolen items in Uxbridge

A 27-year-old from Beaverton is one of two men that were charged after police executed a search warrant Monday (Dec. 11).

Durham Regional Police say two suspects were investigated after a traffic stop in Port Perry on Sunday (Dec. 10). The suspects, according to police, were in a vehicle that had been reported stolen.

On Monday, police executed a search warrant at Scugog Line 12, Uxbridge, and reportedly found two stolen trailers on the property. Furthermore, police say the suspects were in possession of a small quantity of drugs and were responsible for other thefts in Durham Region.

Adam Stoppa, 27, of Twmarc Avenue in Beaverton is charged with two counts of possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000, possession of a Schedule 1 Substance (methamphetamine), theft under $5,000 and failing to comply with probation. He was released on a promise to appear.
