Durham Regional Police launching eighth annual Seniors’ Christmas program

Durham Regional Police Seniors Christmas programOfficers with the Durham Regional Police Service (DRPS) will once again reach out to long-term care residents throughout the region this holiday season.

Starting Monday (Dec. 4), officers will visit with residents of long-term care homes in Durham Region as part of the eighth annual Seniors’ Christmas outreach program. As part of the program, officers will bring gifts and chat with the residents, many of whom are alone during the holidays.

Residents of Lakeview Manor in Beaverton can expect a visit on Dec. 11 at 2 p.m., while residents of Chartwell Bon Air Long Term Care in Cannington can expect officers at 1:30 p.m. on Dec. 12.

A release from the DRPS says officers want to remind the residents they are valued and important members of the community.
