
More than two dozen people were charged with drunk driving offenses during the second week of the Festive Ride program in Durham.
Nearly than 2,700 vehicles were stopped at checkpoints in Ajax, Pickering, Whitby, Oshawa, Port Perry, Uxbridge and Clarington throughout the week and 101 roadside breath tests were administered.
In addition to the 25 arrested for drinking and driving, 19 people received three-day suspensions and four G1 and G2 license-holders were found to have breached the no-alcohol provision.
As well, 34 charges were laid under the criminal code, along with three drug offenses, and 97 other charges were laid under the Highway Traffic Act.
