It appears as though a second medicinal marijuana company is interested in setting up shop in Brock Township.
The agenda for Monday’s (Nov. 27) planning committee meeting includes a letter from Yigil Rifkind, a lawyer representing Maple Leaf Wellness (Canada), regarding a property on Concession 14 Brock.
While no background is included, the letter questions the decision to classify medicinal marijuana operations as an industrial use under the Township’s zoning bylaw.
“While we disagree the zoning of industrial use, would it be possible to simply create a greenhouse to cultivate the cannabis and all ancillary activities will occur offsite?”
The letter references previous correspondence from CAO/Clerk Thom Gettinby, though this is the first time the matter has come before members of council. Check back to The Brock Voice for more information as it becomes available.
The Ontario Municipal Board recently granted approval to a marijuana production facility on Cameron Street in Cannington. Click HERE for more information on that story.
