
Two men facing charges in the incident that led to the death of 21-year-old Josh Elliott of Cannington back in May appeared in court this week.
Lucas Bovell of Toronto, who has been charged with second degree murder, and James Glen of Beaverton, who has been has been charged with aggravated assault, appeared for a pre-trial hearing on Monday (Oct. 16) in Oshawa court. A preliminary hearing is now scheduled to open on March 21 and 22, with additional dates set for March 26, 27 and 29 along with April 3 to 6.

Elliott died on May 26 following a disturbance among several men in the village around 10:30 p.m. in the area of Mara Road and Dundas Street in Beaverton.
According to police, Elliott was found collapsed on Dundas Street. He was rushed to Soldiers’ Memorial Hospital in Orillia but succumbed to his injuries.
Shortly after the incident, police say information was received about a second male suffering from a stab wound. Officers in the area were able to locate a 35-year-old male who sustained non-life threatening injuries, who would spend several weeks in hospital recovering.
