If you’re looking to pamper your pooch, make Doggity Do in Sunderland your destination.

Though it opened its doors in June, a grand opening celebration for the business – located at 93 River Street – is slated for Saturday, Sept. 23 at 1:30 p.m.

Owners Carolina and David Weir, who also opened Country Loonies on the main street a few years ago, said they launched the business as a way to take their love of animals to the next level while addressing a need for local pet owners.

“I saw a real need for a pet grooming place in town,” Ms Weir said, noting that she initially took a grooming course in order to better care for her pets at home.

“I love animals and they love me too,” she added with a laugh.

The new business has been incredibly well received by the community thus far, Ms Weir said.

“The town of Sunderland gave Doggity Do a great welcome. I can now say that I know most of the dogs in town and some of the cats as well,” she added, noting that the business accepts feline customers on Sundays.

Doggity Do offers a range of grooming services – including shampoos, nail and pad trimming, ear cleaning, de-shedding and de-matting – that are available in packages or individually. Individual services are available at a flat rate, while packages vary in price depending on the size of dog.

“We offer a basic and full grooming package as well as some extras,” Weir said.

“Your pet will be stylishly groomed, looking great and feeling comfortable.”
