Countless Sunderland residents are mourning the death of one of the community’s business leaders.
Don Pindar, longtime owner of Pindar Fuels and the gas station/service centre on Highway 12, died peacefully at Lakeridge Health Port Perry on Thursday (Aug. 17) at the age of 95. He leaves behind his loving wife of nearly 71 years, Mary, his daughter, Patricia, as well as four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held at St. Andrew’s United Church in Sunderland on Sunday (Aug. 20) from 2 to 4 p.m. and from 6 to 8 p.m. A celebration of his life will be held at the church the following day at 1 p.m.
The family is welcoming donations in Pindar’s honour to the Sick Children Foundation.
