This September, the community is invited to a picnic and wellness day on the grounds of Lakeview Manor to mark the golden anniversary of Beaverton’s long-term care home.

On Sept. 9, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., Durham Region is partnering with Brock Community Health Centre to host the public celebration of the Manor’s 50th anniverary. Activities include a barbecue, children’s games, giveaways, demonstrations and musical entertainment by local band, MT Pockets.

Wellness displays, with representatives from the healthcare community, will also be on site to provide information and answer questions about healthcare-related matters.

Lakeview Manor first opened its doors to residents on Sept. 14, 1967. ┬áIt is located on 13 acres in the Township of Brock and is one of the Region’s four long-term care homes.
