This September, the community is invited to a picnic and wellness day on the grounds of Lakeview Manor to mark the golden anniversary of Beaverton’s long-term care home.
On Sept. 9, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., Durham Region is partnering with Brock Community Health Centre to host the public celebration of the Manor’s 50th anniverary. Activities include a barbecue, children’s games, giveaways, demonstrations and musical entertainment by local band, MT Pockets.
Wellness displays, with representatives from the healthcare community, will also be on site to provide information and answer questions about healthcare-related matters.
Lakeview Manor first opened its doors to residents on Sept. 14, 1967. It is located on 13 acres in the Township of Brock and is one of the Region’s four long-term care homes.
