Two men seriously injured after collision in Uxbridge

A 21-year-old man from Brampton and a 23-year-old man visiting from Jamaica were seriously injured as result of a crash in Uxbridge last Friday (Aug. 11).

According to a release issued Monday (Aug. 14), police responded to a two-vehicle collision shortly before 3 p.m. on Friday. Durham Regional Police say a blue transport truck with a fully-loaded trailer was southbound on Lake Ridge Road at Davis Drive when it collided with a silver Volkswagen Jetta. The Volkswagen Jetta sustained extensive damage as a result of the collision and left the roadway.

The 23-year-old driver of the Volkswagen Jetta was airlifted to St. Michael’s Hospital in Toronto with life-threatening injuries. The 21-year-old passenger was transported by land ambulance to Sunnybrook Hospital in Toronto with serious life threatening injuries.

Both men are in stable condition. The driver of the transport truck was uninjured in the collision.
