Pefferlaw man arrested after allegedly hitting pedestrian and fleeing the scene

A 53-year-old Pefferlaw man is facing a string of charges after police say he fled the scene of a collision after intentionally striking a male victim in Uxbridge.

According to police, officers were called to Ravenshoe Road around 7 p.m. last Thursday (July 27) for a fail to remain collision involving a pedestrian. A 55-year-old Uxbridge man was seriously injured after being struck by a vehicle driven by the suspect, who fled the scene but was arrested soon after.

The man, whose name has not been released, has been charged with assault with a weapon, dangerous operation of a motor vehicle causing bodily harm, fail to remain cause bodily harm and aggravated assault in relation to the incident.

He has also been charged with historical offences related to a domestic situation, including sexual assault with a weapon, criminal harassment, assault with a weapon and four counts of uttering death threats.

He was held for a bail hearing.
