To the editor:
This year’s Sunderland Maple Syrup Festival was another great showcase of our fabulous little community.
The festival’s success for the past 22 years is due to a fun, enthusiastic committee of hardworking individuals. Over time, the number of committee members has declined noticeably due to life-changing circumstances, and we require a resurgence of volunteers to ensure the future of the festival.
What a great time to ask for new volunteers, as Sunderland’s population is expanding. Being on the committee is a super opportunity to become involved and meet people.
We are looking for help with the Fine Arts Show, assisting with the Arts and Crafts show, and the setup of a float for the Christmas parade. As a committee, we would appreciate any amount of time and effort you can offer. Maybe you and a friend can team up and share the responsibility to lighten the load — be inventive. We are also looking for new ideas, and we need YOUR help to put these ideas into action.
Come out to the next meeting on June 13 at 7:30 p.m. at the Sunderland Town Hall, where we will welcome new members.
Let’s keep our beloved annual event going.
Join us on the 13th … the Sunderland Maple Syrup Festival needs you.
Dawne Duckworth,
Committee representative
